Black Violin

Back by popular demand, Black Violin is composed of classically-trained violist Wil B. and violinist Kev Marcus, who combine their classical training and hip-hop influences to create a unique, distinctive, multi-genre sound that is often described as “classical boom.” The duo focuses on overcoming stereotypes, and they encourage people of all ages, races and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers. Black Violin has shared stages with top names including Kanye West, Aerosmith and Tom Petty and has creatively collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean and Alicia Keys. The band’s most recent record, Stereotypes, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Chart and #4 on the Billboard R&B Chart. The group advocates for educational outreach and in the past year have performed for over 100,000 students in the US and Europe with the message that anything is possible, and there are no limits to what one can achieve, regardless of circumstance.
