Accessibility

Centennial Hall is committed to making theatre experiences accessible to everyone. Should any patron have requests for accessibility that are not addressed below, please contact our Box Office at (520) 621-3341.

Wheelchair Accessible and Companion Seating: Wheelchair accessible seating is available for all events. The Centennial Hall mezzanine level does not have wheelchair accessible seating and can be accessed by stairs only. If a patron has a ticket for a standard theatre seat but requires accessible seating, every effort will be made to accommodate patrons in an accessible space. However, these spaces are limited and require advance notification. Seating accommodations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, should be requested at time of purchase when possible, and may not be available if requested at time of performance.

Wheelchair Accessibility Within Centennial Hall: A lift is available through the leftmost door from the lobby to the main auditorium to take patrons who cannot use stairs from the lobby level to the orchestra level.

Patrons who use wheelchairs may proceed to the front of the security bag check line and concession line.

See Directions & Parking for details on accessible parking locations.

Assistive Listening Devices: Centennial Hall has free headsets and neck loops which are available at the courtesy desk in the lobby on a first-come, first-served basis.

Large-Print and Braille Playbills: Large print playbills are available upon request at time of event. To inquire about the availability of Braille playbills, contact the Box Office at (520) 621-3341 at least two weeks in advance.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation: ASL interpretation is available upon request. To request this service, please call the Box Office at (520) 621-3341 at least two weeks prior to the event.

Live Audio Description: Centennial Hall is able to provide live audio description of performances for up to 5 patrons simultaneously. To request this service, please call the Box Office at (520) 621-3341 at least two weeks prior to the event.

Children on the Autism Spectrum: Centennial Hall strives to be a welcoming place where people of all backgrounds can enjoy performances with ease. To help children on the autism spectrum prepare for their first show at Centennial Hall, we now offer a Social Story. Social Stories are a type of learning tool first developed by Carol Gray in 1991 to support the development of social skills and prepare readers for social situations or interactions they may find challenging. To view, download, or print the Centennial Hall Social Story, please follow this link: Centennial Hall Social Story

Booster Seats: A limited number of child sized booster seats are available. Please ask an usher for assistance.

Service Animals

A service animal is a dog, or a miniature horse when reasonable, that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.

Service animals must be tethered at all times, and must rest in the seating area with handler that is appropriate for animal’s size, not in the aisles.

Because our seating area has narrow rows, we ask that patrons inform us prior to bringing a service animal to Centennial Hall, so that we may reserve the best area for both patron and animal.

Service animals must remain in control at all times. In the case of animals that disrupt the performance or pose a safety risk to our staff and patrons, the guest may be asked to escort the animal out of the building. The nearest space for walking service animals is just outside our lobby doors in the grass.

Recording

Visual and/or audio recording devices of any kind are not permitted in the Hall. Before the performance begins, please turn off all electronic devices.

Children

Children are welcome at most performances; however, “Babes in Arms” policies vary depending on the event.

For details, please contact the Box Office, (520) 621-3341, for event-specific policies.

Latecomers

Events’ start times are printed on the ticket. Late patrons may be held in the lobby until an approved break in the event. On rare occasion, this may be as late as intermission. Please allow ample time to park and pick up tickets at will call prior to the event’s start time.

Smoking

The University of Arizona is smoke- and tobacco-free effective August 25, 2014. This policy applies to University students, faculty, employees, contractors, volunteers, and visitors on its campuses and in its vehicles. It prohibits the use of any products that contain tobacco or nicotine, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and all forms of smokeless tobacco.

More information at the Tobacco-Free UA website.

Emergency calls

Emergency calls can be made to the theatre via the University of Arizona Police Department at 520-621-8273. Doctors, or anyone who may be called, should give seat locations to the House Manager, (520) 626-4591, prior to the performance.
