Join the Tucson community in an extraordinary legacy event celebrating Juneteenth, one of the most significant commemorations marking the end of slavery in the United States. Beyond Legacy: A Juneteenth Celebration recognizes the history of African Americans and their formative impact on our nation.

Don’t miss a moving and empowering evening featuring remarks by Reverend Dr. Bernice King, strategist, peace advocate, and daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Professor Ilyasah Shabazz, award-winning author, educator, and daughter of Malcolm X.

Reserve your seat now for an inspiring experience you’ll never forget! Beyond Legacy: A Juneteenth Celebration is free and open to the public. Tickets are required for entry. A college student ID is required for special student seating. Groups of 15 or more should contact the Arizona Arts Box Office in Centennial Hall at (520) 621-3341.

 

Please note: there will be a clear bag policy in effect for this event. The policy limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into our venues. The following is a list of bags accepted for entry: bags that are clear plastic or vinyl and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” or one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar) or small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, after being searched. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection, including but not limited to oxygen tanks, diabetes kits, allergy pens, etc.

Prohibited bags include but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch; briefcases, backpacks; fanny packs; diaper bags; cinch bags; luggage of any kind; long golf umbrellas; cooler bags; computer bags; camera bags. Any bag larger than the permissible size, unless credentialed personnel carrying such belonging have been thoroughly searched. Personal items may be enclosed in a small clutch bag, approximately the size of a hand. These small bags will be searched.
