The 2027 College of Science Lecture Series, Inception: The Origins of Life, the Universe, and Everything, will take audiences on a journey to the beginning, exploring the extraordinary scientific stories that have shaped our planet, our universe, and our place within them.

From the emergence of life and the evolution of a living planet, to the geological forces that have shaped Earth and the ancient ingredients preserved in asteroids, to the creation of the elements that make stars, planets and life possible, each lecture explores a different chapter in the story of where we come from.

Together, these talks reveal the remarkable connections between the origins of life, Earth and the cosmos, inviting us to look backward through time to better understand the world we inhabit today.

All lectures are free and open to the public.
