Juneteenth and Beyond: The Art of Black Culture Through Movement

Celebrate the artistry, rhythm, and cultural legacy of Black expression through a one-of-a-kind evening of live music, dynamic movement, and a curated culinary experience.

Juneteenth and Beyond: The Art of Black Culture Through Movement is an inspiring evening that brings together performance, music, and food in a single, unforgettable celebration. Theatre of Movement, led by University of Arizona School of Dance Director Duane Cyrus, takes the stage for a dynamic performance accompanied by live musical instrumentation and artistic storytelling that honors the richness and influence of Black culture across generations.

The experience extends beyond the stage. Included with every ticket is a curated culinary journey inspired by Afro-Caribbean flavors, traditions, and culture, making this evening as much a feast for the senses as it is for the soul. As a special thank you, guests will also receive a complimentary event t-shirt with ticket purchase, while supplies last. Presented by Arizona Arts Live, the Student Union Memorial Center, Campus Community Connections, and the College of Fine Arts.
